BRANDING THE UNIQUE WEST BROADWAY EXPERIENCE TO PROMOTE THE DISTRICT’S HISTORIC CHARMS AND PAVE THE WAY TO FUTURE PROGRESS The Challenge Part of the lively district of Kitsilano, West Broadway resides along one of Vancouver’s major thoroughfares. The West Broadway Business Improvement Association contracted Synergist Communications to evaluate the existing West Broadway brand towards developing a fresh brand identity that distinguishes the colourful, historic district from adjoining destinations and communities. This artistic, inspired and spirited community with a history spanning well over a century offers a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere where members value and support each other while warmly welcoming visitors with open arms, and leaders constantly seek inventive and resourceful ways to upgrade and improve the district while retaining its classic charm and ambiance. The Solution The West Broadway brand essence is “character”. Safe, energetic, inclusive, forward thinking — these core qualities imbue the West Broadway brand promise and experience. Every aspect of the storied community speaks volumes about its authentic, celebrated experience featuring a diverse cast of characters from all walks and parts of the world impressing their individual pursuits and passions on the life and times of the energetic community. Making a brand promise is the same as looking a person straight in the eye, shaking their hand and telling them exactly what they can expect when they invest time, energy or money in a company, product or community.
